Hannah’s Hands of Hope

About

Imagine your whole life being flipped upside down in an instant… Imagine spending over two months pacing the hospital hallways wondering if your child would ever be able to open her eyes again.

When their daughter Hannah was rescued, unconscious and unresponsive, from the deep end of a pool, Beth Ayn and Eric Rognmoe’s entire world changed. As Hannah fought for life, the Rognmoe family found themselves in a fight for their lives as well – fighting for healing and restoration.

With the support they received from so many in their community, the Rognmoe’s discovered that real hope does exist even in the middle of tragedy, and that there truly is a light that shines brighter than the deepest, darkest experiences anyone may face

Hannah’s Hands of Hope seeks to bring that same hope to other families who are facing life-altering, traumatic situations. The foundation partners with volunteers who are committed to donating time, money, resources and skills in order to support these families in their time of need.

There truly is a light that shines brighter than the deepest, darkest experiences of life…

Our Mission

We are committed to providing hope to families in traumatic, life-altering situations by giving them practical and strategic resources

For example, the foundation has three practical goals when meeting with families:

1. Care baskets – simple, useful resources that meet immediate needs

2. Home modifications – if necessary, longer term solutions tailored to the family’s particular needs

3. Advocacy – the foundation is a voice in our communities on behalf of these families, making their needs known to those who may be in a position to help

Our Vision

We will connect families in need with those who give of their time, resources, finances and more in order to bring them help and hope

Eric Rognmoe

Eric Rognmoe is the proud dad of Hannah and leader of the Hannah’s Hands of Hope team! His passion is to offer a helping hand to others who are going through traumatic life changing situations offering hope in the darkest of times. He and his wife, Beth Ayn, have faced difficulties in their 27 plus years of marriage; miscarriages, the death of a three month old baby girl, close family losses and the near drowning accident of their 10 year old, Hannah Joy.

Although all of these experiences were difficult, the last one was the most life-changing. After the accident, Eric remembers standing in the hospital room looking out the window wondering if they would ever go home and, if they did, what would that even look like? Everything had changed in one moment from having an active, strong willed little lady who ran everywhere to having that same girl going home in a wheelchair, totally dependent on others. During a routine “Home Visit” with the Rehab Staff, Eric and Beth Ayn learned major modifications had to be made before Hannah could come home. The home had to meet ADA requirements for it to work for Hannah. They were in a state of shock and their emotions sent reeling not knowing how this would happen. With a background in construction, Eric is wanting to help others with the necessary changes in their homes.

While in the hospital they saw others who were going through traumatic challenges as well, but were by themselves without the support that Eric and Beth Ayn had. This made a lasting impression on them both. They saw people that needed hope, needed to know that someone was there that could encourage them and give them the tools to begin to understand what they were facing. Eric hopes to use these experiences to help others in traumatic, life changing situations.

Beth Ayn Rognmoe

Beth Ayn has a passion to help people rise up out of circumstances that would hold them down. As Hannah Joy and Joshua’s mom, she has seen her kids face circumstances that would try to defeat them and keep them from who they are made to be. In 2011 when Hannah experienced a near-drowning accident that resulted in a traumatic brain injury, Beth Ayn found herself with the daily challenge of trying to survive and overcome. During those dark days there arose a desire in Beth Ayn to reach out and walk the journey with other parents. And today, working alongside her husband and soul-mate Eric, Beth Ayn is determined to see families who face similar traumatic, life-altering situations receive the hope and help they need to overcome tragedy and live a full life.

Born and raised in Colorado, Beth Ayn loves being outdoors enjoying the family’s 3 dogs, 3 horses, flock of chickens, and Longhorn cattle on their property in Elbert County, CO. She and Eric are celebrating over 27 years of marriage as well as Hannah Joy being a Senior in high school and Joshua being a Junior. The Rognmoe family’s life has its daily challenges, but they live with hope that overcomes tragedy.
